2 out of 5 stars Turnning Peltor Tactical Sport "on" or "off'   July 27, 2010
Joe Weissmann (Cincinnati, OH, US)

I have not used my Peltor Tactical Sport noise cancelling earphones for some time. After replacing the bateries, I don't remember how to turn the device on or off! There is a small rubber embosed on/off symbol on the side of one of the ear pieces adjacent to the volune plus and minus buttons. Pressing that (on/off) button seems to do nothing. There is no indicator like a light nor is there any apparent change in the sounds heard through the ear phones. I can't tell if I turned it on or off. I need some help. Incidentally, my Peltor model does not look like the current illustrations of the product. I probably have an earlier model.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent. Note comparison to another Pelton model   June 17, 2010
perstare (Dickson, TN, USA)
These are excellent sound-suppressing headphones; there are many people who have posted excellent reviews here and I have nothing to add regarding the quality of the 97039 headphone itself. They are great!
But they also are very expensive, and you may have looked at less-expensive headphones.
If you were considering buying the less-expensive Peltor MT15H67FB, be careful. Please read my review of the MT15H67FB and you will learn why the 97039 might be a **much better choice** for you, expensive or not!

I recommend the 97039 very highly.

5 out of 5 stars Great Ear Protection   May 29, 2010

This product was recommended by Front Sight. They know what they are talking about. Excellent product. More than met my expectations. Turn the gain up and you can even hear the gravel rustle under people's feet not to mention clear range commands. Does an excellent job of blocking the loud report of firearms. Battery life is excellent. The battery lasted well beyond my four day range experience even when I forgot to turn the head phones off at the end of each day.

5 out of 5 stars Good choice for use on indoor range   May 27, 2010

Good choice for long sessions at indoor range. Very comfortable ear pads. Sound attenuation excellent. Hearing amplification returns rapidly after shot is fired. Overall excellent value for money. These are to replace my old 6S phones. They were smaller and handier, but the pads hurt to wear much beyond a few minutes at a time.

5 out of 5 stars Best shooting muffs ever....   April 20, 2010

These are the best shooting muffs I've ever used. I've spent a lot of time at the range shooting 9mm, .40 cal, 5.56 and 12ga. These work perfectly. You can easily hear range commands, but muzzle blast is instantly muffled.

There are fancier models available, but the beauty of the 7S is their simplicity. One knob for on/off and volume. The 9 volt battery seemingly lasts forever and is easy to replace without tools. No unnecessary frills, just great electronic hearing protection. I would recommend these to anyone.
