 Great for dog nail grinding February 22, 2010

I am a professional dog groomer at a PetSmart grooming salon. We use this 7.2volt dremel to grind dogs nails. It is the best dremel out there! We used to use the Oster corded grinder, which works amazing too, but this one is so much easier because its cordless. Just be sure to charge each night and you are ready to go for the day! Its amazingly powerful and works great if you know how to use it!

This model doesn't hold a charge long enough to finish most projects and takes up to 4 hours to recharge. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes out of it. The battery pack fits poorly to the unit and easily pops out. The charger is bottom-heavy with the battery inserted which can cause the plug to lose contact with the wall outlet. On more than one occasion I thought it was charging only to find when I wanted to use it that it had come partially unplugged. Quality and design is far below what I expected from Dremel.

I purchased this to trim my dogs nails as I don't like to use the cutters (too worried about nipping the quick). I read the reviews on this and the other 'trendy' dog groomers and decided to purchase the dremel over the so-called pet groomers. This tool works great and my dog doesn't mind having her nails trimmed with it. I only need to use the 'low' speed. The charge lasts through two uses (at least 2-3 weeks in between). I would purchase this again.

I ordered the dremel tool to grind the edges of my concrete leaves that I sandcast. I love it! It is the perfect tool for the job and saves me tons of time and energy. I also ordered the extra battery but don't think I really need it because I can use my tool for 20 or 30 minutes at a time and the original battery has not gone dead yet. I love the case also because I know where all the accessories are when ever I need them.
